When it comes to poker, she literally wrote the book!
Poker is an incredible game that truly taps into us as people —
intellectually, socially, and emotionally. I wanted this experience
to be accessible to everyone, men and women alike. My goal was to
create the resource I wish I’d had when coming up in my poker
career, empowering male and female poker players to learn how to
play quickly and effectively.
Amanda started playing poker in 2017, while working in Washington
D.C. as a political writer. Her job was writing a foreign policy
newsletter for 30,000 subscribers. It was politics made
simple.
When she discovered Texas Hold ‘Em and realized how inaccessible it
was to beginners, Amanda used her same skills to create poker made
simple. Soon after she signed a book deal with D&B Publishing
and wrote A Girl’s Guide to Poker — an easy entry point
for beginners to intermediates.
Amanda is also a huge advocate for women in poker and encouraging
up-coming-female poker players.
